This fantastic 10 day tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Cairo, and we visit the famous Pyramids and Egyptian museum while we are in the Capital. We then catch an overnight train to Aswan, see the dam and catch a boat to Philae Temple. We visit Abu Simbel (optional) before the highlight of the trip, an overnight stay and cruise down the Nile on a traditional Felucca. We then visit Luxor and the Valley of the Kings before we travel to the beautiful Red Sea resort of Hurghada for some rest and relaxation before we return to Cairo.

Day 1 (Saturday) – Arrive Cairo

Make your own way to Cairo International Airport where you will be met in the arrivals hall by your Pillow representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore before you meet you Pillow tour leader and fellow guests at the pre-departure meeting.

Day 2 (Sunday) – Cairo Tour and overnight to Aswan(B)

After breakfast in the hotel we will take a Cairo tour, visiting the famous Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza and then visit the step Pyramid of Sakkara. After we have completed the tour you will be transferred to the train station for an overnight train journey to Aswan. (Please note 1st class recliner seats are included, but if you want to upgrade to a sleeper cabin its £40 per person one way.

Day 3 (Monday) – Arrive in Aswan

You will arrive in the southern town of Aswan around 10am and will be transferred to your hotel. After some time to freshen up we will tour around Aswan visiting Philae Temple, Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser. Tonight is free for you to relax or explore Aswan.

Day 4 (Tuesday) Felucca Cruise on the Nile (B) (L) (D)

After breakfast in the hotel we will board our traditional Felucca for a cruise down the Nile. Many people consider this the highlight of their trip to Egypt, and we will spend the day relaxing and watching the world go by.

Day 5 (Wednesday) visit Temple of Sobek, then Edfu to Luxor (B)

After watching the sunrise and having breakfast on the deck of our Felucca, we will visit the Temple of Sobek. After a short journey and visit to Edfu Temple, we will travel to Luxor and check into our hotel. After some time to freshen up, we will tour the East Bank of Luxor and visit Luxor Temple and the huge Karnak Temple. Tonight is free for you to relax or explore Temple.

Day 6 (Thursday) Luxor tour then travel to Hurghada on Red Sea (B)

After breakfast in the hotel we will tour the west bank of Luxor, visiting the famous Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon. We will then board an a/c bus for drive to Hurghada on the Red Sea where we will check into our hotel.

Day 7 (Friday) Arrive in Hurghada – free day (B)

Once we arrive in Hurghada we will have a free day to relax and enjoy this lovely small red sea resort. There are plenty of opportunities for snorkelling, scuba diving or just relaxing.

Day 8 (Saturday) Hurghada – free day – overnight to Cairo (B)

Another day to relax at this lovely Red Sea resort. Tonight we will board our a/c bus for an overnight journey back to Cairo.

Day 9 (Sunday) Cairo

This morning we arrive back in Cairo and check into our hotel. After some time to freshen up we visit the Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Saladin, Alabaster Mosque and finally Khan El Khalili open market and Bazaar for any last souvenirs you wish to buy.

Day 10 (Monday) Cairo (B)

After breakfast the tour terminates. A transfer to the airport is included in the tour price.

All transport around Egypt in train (1st class recliner seats) and a/c bus, minibus or car. Upgrade to sleeper cabin on train is available for £40 per person one-way.

All accommodation, 2 nights in 4 Star Cairo hotel, 1 night in 3 star Aswan Hotel, 1 night in 4 star Luxor hotel, 2 nights on 4 star Hurghada hotel, 1 night on Felicca cruise and 1 night on overnight bus from Hurghada to Cairo.

Airport transfers on Day 1 and Day 10 of the tour.

Guided tours of Giza Pyramids, Sakkara & Cairo city tour, Aswan, Luxor and valley of Kings, with English speaking Egyptologist guide where appropriate. Please note entrance fees are not included.

No local payment and no single supplement if you are happy to share a room with another solo traveller.

Your international flights to and from Cairo and your entrance Visa to Egypt (Approx US$15 for a Single Entry Visa).

Single Supplement is £90 per person if you don’t want to share a room with another solo traveler.

If you want extra nights in our Cairo hotel before or after the tour, the cost is £25 per person per night.

Entrance Fees to museums, temples and other places included on the itinerary. Example of costs are Giza Pyramids / Sphinx GBP£6pp, Egyptian Museum GBP£6pp, Komombo Temple GBP£3pp, Philae Temple GBP£5pp, Karnak Temple £7pp, Valley of the Kings GBP£9pp, Tutankhamun Tomb GBP£10 per person.

Any added extras not on the itinerary, for example if you wish to visit Abu Simbel the cost is around GBP £55 per person (but it’s well worth it!). A balloon flight over the West Bank in Luxor will cost around GBP £85 and the sound and light show at Karnak Temple will cost around GBP £15. If you want to visit the Giza Pyramids on horseback, that will cost around GBP £8.
