This fantastic 10 day tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Cairo, and we visit the famous Pyramids and Egyptian museum while we are in the Capital. We then catch an overnight train to Aswan, see the dam and catch a boat to Philae Temple. We spend 3 nights sailing down the Nile on a 5 star cruise ship. We then visit Luxor and the Valley of the Kings before relaxing for 2 days at the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.

Day 1 (Saturday) – Arrive Cairo

Make your own way to Cairo International Airport and our local representatives will be waiting to meet you in the arrivals hall. You will then be transferred to your Cairo hotel where you can relax until meeting your Pillow tour leader and fellow guests at the pre-departure meeting.

Egypt Tours - 9 Day Nile Explorer

Day 2 (Sunday) Cairo Tour then overnight train to Aswan (B)

After breakfast we will visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the step pyramid at Sakkara. This evening we will board the overnight train to Aswan. Please note 1st class recliner seats are included in the price, if you want to upgrade to a sleeper cabin the price is £40 per person one way.

Day 3 (Monday) Aswan tour and overnight on 5 star Nile cruise (L) (D)

Once you arrive in Aswan we will transfer you to your five star Nile Cruise ship so you can freshen up. We will then tour around Aswan visiting Aswan Dam, Lake Nasser and Philae temple. Then its back to your cruise ship for dinner and sailing down the Nile.

Day 4 (Tuesday) Nile Cruise visiting Kom-Ombo and Edfu (B) (L) (D)

Today we continue to cruise down the Nile, stopping to visit Kom-Ombo and Edfu Temples.

Day 5 (Wed) Nile Cruise to Luxor and tour of East Bank (B) (L) (D)

After breakfast the cruise will reach Luxor where we will tour the East Bank, including Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. We will return to the cruise ship for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 (Thur) Tour of Luxor West Bank & overnight to Hurghada (B)

After breakfast we say goodbye to the cruise ship and tour the West Bank of Luxor, visiting the Valley of the Kings and Colossi of Memnon. We will then travel by A/C bus to the beautiful Red Sea resort of Hurghada and check into our hotel.

Day 7 (Friday) Arrive Hurghada, free day (B)

After we arrive in Hurghada we will check into our hotel and then the day is free for you to relax and enjoy this lovely Red Sea resort. Plenty of snorkelling or scuba diving available if you are feeling active.

Day 8 (Saturday) Hurghada and overnight to Cairo (B)

Another free day for you to relax and enjoy Hurghada before we board an overnight bus for the journey back to Cairo.

Day 9 (Sunday) Cairo

This morning we will arrive back in Cairo and check into our hotel so you can freshen up. Then we take a tour of Cairo, visiting the Egyptian Museum, Mosque of Mohamed Ali and finally have some time shopping in the Bazaars of the old city.

Day 10 (Monday) Cairo (B)

After breakfast in the hotel the tour terminates. However a return transfer to the airport is included in the price.


What’s included

All transport around Egypt on trains, cruise ships and busses. Please note your train accommodation is 1st class recliner seats, if you want to upgrade to a sleeper cabin, the cost is £40 per person (one way).

All accommodation during the tour, Cairo 2 nights in 4 star hotel, 3 nights on board 5 Star Nile Cruise, 1 night on train, 2 nights in 4 star hotel in Hurghada and 1 overnight on bus.

Your international flights to and from Cairo and your entrance Visa to Egypt (Approx US$15 for a Single Entry Visa).

Your personal travel Insurance (compulsory) which includes medical repatriation cover.

Entrance Fees to museums, temples and other places included on the itinerary. Example of costs are Giza Pyramids / Sphinx GBP£6pp, Egyptian Museum GBP£6pp, Komombo Temple GBP£3pp, Philae Temple GBP£5pp, Karnak Temple £7pp, Valley of the Kings GBP£9pp, Tutankhamun Tomb GBP£10 per person.

Any added extras not on the itinerary, for example if you wish to visit Abu Simbel the cost is around GBP £55 per person (but it’s well worth it!). A balloon flight over the West Bank in Luxor will cost around GBP £75 and the sound and light show at Karnak Temple will cost around GBP £15. If you want to visit the Giza Pyramids on horseback, that will cost around GBP £8.
